Georgia Peach – I’VE BEEN ADOPTED!!!

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:18 am by Administrator

Peaches came to Lone Star around a year ago when her owner passed and the family turned her in. At this time she was also seperated from her brother. Peaches is about 11 years old and likes to keep to herself, probably missing her old family and not understanding the hustle and bustle of her foster family. Peaches is a sweet lady who knows her house manners and loves the attention when she gets alone time with her foster mom. If you would like to learn more about Peaches, visit her Petfinder Site here

On behalf of Peaches (from her foster mom)!
Thank you so much for featuring me as this weeks Fluff of the Week! I know that there’s a special someone out there just waiting to take me home.
Let’s make this a Happy New Year for all of us!

How is her hearing? I have a 13 yr old female Shih Tzu (spoiled rotten, of course) who is going deaf, and am looking for an adult either male (she’s a flirt) or female to take over those duties in our house. Chewie has other health issues typical with the breed (arthritis since age 4, back surgery, eyes) plus colitis (under control), but is also typical of the breed in that she’s incredibly spunky and friendly with all other dogs and people. We just got back from NYC and Christmas with my sister and her family, and she turned into a city dog, protected very well by my sister’s Tibetan Terrier Boomer. She’s leery of little children after my cousin’s little ones chased her one Christmas Eve many years ago, but she just keeps a safe distance now and hides behind me whenever necessary. We need another furry body to love in our house, and after thinking about larger dogs (25-40 lbs) I’m thinking another Shih Tzu might be what we need. If you don’t think Georgia (or Peaches) is our forever dog, do you have any other suggestions? We’re looking for a little one that would not try to challenge Chewie. Thanks so much.

Elaine: very nice to hear from you. Peaches hearing is perfect. I do believe that she may be just the right fit for your household and Chewie. Please contact me with any other questions that you may have and I can go over the adoption process with you. Have you, by chance, gone into our website and completed the online application for starters?
    My email address is mada51@sbcglobal.net
Looking forward to hearing from you.

What a lovely and sweet lady to have gone through such a trying time and still have such a loving heart. I do hope that Peaches can find the perfect forever home. She certainly deserves to be loved and be in a loving home.

Very glad to report that Peaches annual vet visit went just fine. She’s all caught up on her shots (and the little sweet thing didn’t flinch at all), she’s heartworm negative, her vitals are good and except for the fact that she’s a few lbs. overweight (which we’re working on) and she has dry eye in both eyes (cyclosporine drops twice a day), she’s in very good health, especially for a pooch her age.
Let me say again, how very very good she was during the exam!

She looks precious. How much does she weigh? I need a companion to love and spoil.

Sarah: she is very sweet but very shy. She would love to have someone love and spoil her – Peach would make a wonderful companion for you. She weighs close to 20 lbs. and really needs to lose at least 4 or 5. Would you like to give it a shot???? Please contact me mada51@sbcglobal.net

It’s spring and it would be a great time for a change for Peach. She’s so ready to go into a home with fewer dogs. We have been getting in some really nice walks the last few weeks – she just loves going out and taking in all the new smells of the season. Still waiting for that special someone to come to her rescue!

Peach just got back from the groomer sporting her new, summer cut – she looks adorable and I know she feels so much better. She even looks a lb. or 2 lighter but that just goes to show ya what a healthier diet and a bit more walking will do too!
She’s still waiting for that special someone to come into her life and whisk her away – might be you! If so, please contact me and we’ll get you two together!

Miss Georgia Peach is a sweetheart! She does well with other sedate dogs and as she gets to know you, the skittishness begins to vanish. Travels like a real trouper!!! She is fitting into her new foster home very nicely.
