WILMA – I’VE BEEN ADOPTED!!!

Greetings!! My name is Wilma and I am a 4-5 year old, 12 pound, black and white Shih Tzu girl. My foster mom calls me a classic black and white tzu who has a very cute little face! I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself as I am a very special girl who hopes to be lucky enough to find a special forever family to love me.
Basically I am VERY shy. I was a puppy mill dog and was never socialized during my time there. Because of that I now tend to find a hiding place where I feel safe and secure and I stay there until I’m sure all is well. I sometimes find some very silly and possibly dangerous places to hide, so my new family needs to understand that I need to be safe and not have access to anything that might hurt me.
I am learning to trust and am starting to like people and other dogs, but it is a slow process. When I first meet someone I am a bit apprehensive and I might nip out of fear, but once I know you are OK and here to help me I become comfortable. Trust is the whole issue here and I’m starting to learn that trust is a good thing. I am even starting to trust my foster brother and sister doggies at Deogi, our day care center. I have figured out that it is fun to play with them, but again that took a little time because of that trust thing. I never had toys before and now I’m learning how to play with those too! Every day is a new adventure for me.
I now trust and love my foster mom and will sit on her lap and get pets and loving from her. She says that I am a diamond in the rough, just waiting for someone who will help me to be the best little dog ever. All I want to be is loved, but I have to learn what that’s all about. For now it would be best that I go to a forever home that does not have children.
I have no health problems and am learning house breaking. I do love to eat and I will do a little jumping dance when I hear my food being prepared. Mom laughs when I do this, but it is just my way of saying “Feed me, I’m hungry!!”
I would love to have my own forever family. I need someone to help me become the great little dog I know I am capable of being. I just need someone who has the patience to help me. Trust me, I’m worth the effort.
Please contact my foster mom at sherry352@sbcglobal.net , she’ll make sure you know what a great dog I am. Also, please look at my Petfinder page for even more information.
I am altered, up-to-date on all my shots and am heartworm negative.
