TERRY JAMES
Hi! I’m Terry and I was featured as the Fluff of the Week in May of 2008. I just wanted to tell you that I’m still here, waiting for my forever home. I survived Hurricane Ike, along with my foster brothers and sisters and all the other Lone Star dogs. It was REALLY something and we are all still trying to get back to normal.
Please take a look at me and my little story. If you think I might be just perfect for YOUR family, please contact my foster mom at sherry352@sbcglobal.net She’ll tell you what a special guy I am. Please take a minute to read about me.

Am I cute or what? My name is Terry James and I am a 5 year old beige and white Shih Tzu male looking for his forever home. I weigh about 14 pounds. I have one eye due to an old injury. Unfortunately, I have recently become blind in that eye. The veterinarian told my foster mom that my retina has separated from the back of my eye and caused total blindness. I am adjusting to this slowly and I now need lots of love and attention from the volunteers at Lone Star to help me conquer this hurdle. I know I can do it and my foster mom tells me that once I know the lay of the land and my daily routine, I will be fine. I want to be with my foster mom and the other volunteers now more than I ever did before as I continue to learn.
I am not the perfect dog, and now that I am blind it would be best if I were the only dog in my forever home so that I can get all the pets and cuddles that I want!! I would probably do fine in a home with another dog that is very quiet and laid back that would not mind my bumping into him occasionally.
My favorite thing to do is to be with my foster mom and the family. I get along with my foster brothers and sisters as long as they leave me alone – I don’t pay very much attention to them normally. My foster mom says there should be no children in my forever house. Because I am now totally blind, children might scare me as I need a quiet, stable environment. And, although I now mind my manners pretty well, I have a history of being naughty. I am pretty good now, though, honestly! I also LOVE to get treats and I especially like to get little bits of whatever my foster mom happens to be eating!! I would love a lap of my own to cuddle in. Please give me a chance! I have gone through months of rehabilitation to become the better mannered little dog I am now.
If you are looking for an extra special little guy in your life, please contact my foster mom at sherry352@sbcglobal.net. I know she has all the goods on me that she would be happy to tell you about.
I am altered, up to date on all my shots, heartworm negative and microchipped.
