Lucinda Burke
UPDATE:  5:33 PM June 9, 2006

I just got off the phone with the vet.  The
ultrasound of Lucinda's abdomen revealed
nodules and a mass in her liver.  An aspirate
of the liver tissue showed suspected neoplastic
cells - cancer.  Lucinda went to the rainbow
bridge peacefully.

I'm so sorry, I just cannot even think right
now. You have no idea how much we love these
dogs.  And I know you do too and are feeling
this pain as much as we are.

This adorable little face was just on the verge
of having the best life ever and it was
snatched from her grasp by this horrible
disease.

I feel so helpless.  And her foster mom is
devastated.

For those of you that so generously donated,
if there is anything left over after we pay her
bill, it will be applied to one of the less urgent
ill dogs, with your approval.

We are no longer taking donations
for Lucinda, I believe we have
enough to cover what we incurred.

But, if you are moved by this little
girl's story, you might think about
some of the others that aren't so
critical, but still need help.
Perhaps in her honor.

Little ones like
Farley Oaks,
Braysia, Harrison Ford Christi and
Ishmael Oak, still need a lot of
help.
