Greetings!
Our names are Abracadabra and Ellery, but we are affectionately called Abby and Elle by our foster mom and dad. Our foster home is in Phoenix and we are getting used to the hot, dry weather here! We are new to Lone Star and would like to tell you a little bit about ourselves. We’d like to be adopted together, if possible, as we are half sisters and we LOVE each other!! We will be on Petfinder soon, so please watch for us!!!

Abby
I am a 13 month old black and white Shih Tzu girl and am very tiny at about 9 pounds or so. I have the best little “puponality” and I just love to be held, cuddle, and snuggle! My favorite thing is to be with my foster mom when we watch TV together, but I am also a very playful and energetic little girl.

Elle
I am a 6 month old black and white Shih Tzu girl and am very petite. My foster mom says that I am a very good girl. Like my sister I am very affectionate and I also love to get pets and snuggle. I do have lots of energy and I enjoy playing, but after I’m done I am perfectly content to just relax and have quiet time.

Tapioca
My name is Tapioca and I am a 10 year old very tiny Shih Tzu lady. I am very grateful that I was found after Hurricane Ike and am now under the care of the wonderful Lone Star volunteers. I am heartworm positive and have just begun treatment for that. Once I am healthy, I will be up for adoption!!

Bon Bon
My name is Bon Bon and I am a 6 year old Lhasa Apso girl. I was quite overweight when I first came to Lone Star and have been on a diet. I think I’m looking pretty good now and consider myself quite trim! I am also getting more confident each day with the loving care that I am getting from the Lone Star volunteers. I hope to have my very own Petfinder page soon!!!

Koala
My name is Koala and I am a 2 year old Shih Tzu boy. I was found hiding under a truck shortly after Hurricane Ike came through Houston. I am VERY lucky to have been found. I was quite fearful when I first came to Lone Star, but I am getting more and more confident every day. I KNOW that I will have my very own Petfinder page soon! Watch for me!

We are three VERY lucky Lone Star Dogs! We have been at Lone Star for a while recuperating from surgeries. We are not quite ready for adoption yet – but we will be soon!!! Watch for our Petfinder pages and check us out!

Monkey
I am a 3 year old Shih Tzu boy. I was found at one of the local shelters and I was in very bad shape. I could not walk at all and everyone thought that I might have been hit by a car. I had to have emergency surgery to fix some of the discs in my spine. The veterinarians were not certain that I would ever walk again. But, I proved them all wrong and I can now walk again. I have a funny little walk and I will probably have a slightly abnormal walk for the rest of my life. But, the best part is that I CAN WALK!!! Thank you Lone Star for helping me!!

Alamo
I am a 3 year old Shih Tzu/Maltese mix young lad. When I came to Lone Star I was heartworm positive and I had a broken leg. My leg injury was at least 6 months old, so when I had surgery no one really knew what to expect. I am happy to say that my surgery was successful and I am now recuperating. I have exercises that I do so that my leg will gain strength. And, I am now heartworm negative too! I am doing better and better each day and will be up for adoption soon.

Weise
I am a 4 year old Shih Tzu boy who was found as a stray. I had a displaced hip and was heartworm positive when I came to Lone Star. I had to undergo surgery twice for my hip. The first time they did the surgery the new joint did not hold and it needed to be redone. I almost lost my leg. I am happy to say, that the second surgery was successful and I am feeling great! I have also completed my heartworm treatment and will be ready for adoption soon!

Rajah
My name is Rajah and I am a beautiful 4 year old Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu mix. I am very sweet, easygoing, but a little shy right now. I’m almost ready for my own Petfinder page so that I can find my forever home! Keep a lookout for me!

Roux
My name is Roux and I am a 4 year old male Shih Tzu. I was found tied to a mailbox and was taken to a veterinarian by a Good Samaritan. Now I am lucky to be called a Lone Star dog! I had a broken tail and it bothered me a great deal. In fact, because I had so many problems, my tail had to be amputated. I still am having some problems, but as soon as my tail gets better and I feel better, I know my life will change. Hopefully, I can look for my forever home.

My name is Blanca and I just arrived at Lone Star. I am a 4 year old Shih Tzu girl who was used as a breeder dog. I’ve had several litters in my short life. And, I was left outside in a back yard to fend for myself when my owners left the house. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan rescued me and brought me to Lone Star. I am so very happy about that! Now I have a soft warm bed inside the house, good food, and lots of loving from my new foster family. I’ve even got some foster brothers and sisters to play with! Life is great and I think it will even get better! I’ll be ready for adoption soon and I would love to be loved by you! Watch for my Petfinder page and check me out!

Hello out there! I am Sage and I was found as a stray after Hurricane Ike. I am a 2 year old white and brown Shih Tzu girl. I was a real mess when I was found – my hair was all matted from being outside, and I was really scared. Right now I am still a little shy and fearful, but who wouldn’t be after Hurricane Ike! I know that I will start “coming out of my shell” soon. Watch for me on Petfinder! I hope to be ready for my forever family soon!

My name is Benjamin and I am SO VERY LUCKY TO BE ALIVE!!! Take a look at my picture when I first arrived at Lone Star. I was found by a lady after I had been abandoned in a back yard. As you can see, I was in really rough shape.

But, take a look at me now, just about a month after being found! I am still a little on the thin side, but I am getting healthier and healthier every day. I am very happy and quite spunky and doing GREAT if I say so myself. Make sure you look for my Petfinder page soon. Hopefully, I’ll be ready to find my forever home soon!

We are Arthur and Ike and we are two of the newest newcomers to arrive at Lone Star. We would like to tell you a bit about ourselves.

Arthur
I am a black and white Lhasa Apso boy who was found as a stray. I am now in foster care and am SO GRATEFUL for that! I have had some medical problems and am doing so much better than when I came in. I had kennel cough and medicine has helped me get rid of that! I also am heartworm positive and will start on treatment for that very soon. Because of my heartworm treatment, it will be a little while before I can be adopted, but I promise to be ready for my forever home as soon as I am well!

Ike
WOW! I have the same name as the hurricane that has caused Houston so many problems. I promise that I won’t cause any problems to the wonderful Lone Star folks who rescued me!
I am a 3 year old Shih Tzu boy and I am very happy and friendly. I was found as a stray and was sick when I first came to Lone Star. I had kennel cough and pneumonia, but now I am SO MUCH BETTER!! I’m a little underweight, but I am eating well, am healthy, and will be ready for adoption soon! Watch for my Petfinder page.
