YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS….MILL KIDS JUST RELEASED!!

Posted in June 2007 Mill Kids at 9:01 am by Lone Star Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso Rescue

I am just so in disbelief and overwhelmed that I am totally numb.  With all this going on – herds and herds (ok, packs, it just seems like herds) of little fluffs being dumped at the shelters, Juicy Lu’s surgery, Zion’s horrible injuries, FOUR elderly lhasas STILL looking for forever foster homes, and on and on and on,  I thought I could just sit here and relax Saturday.

But NOOOOOO, not to be.  Let me back up a few weeks ago…

A rescuer from the dfw area contacted us to ask if we had room for five little breeder throw-aways asap.  Well, NO, we didn’t and neither did anyone else, but we contacted the other groups that rescue shih tzu in the DFW area and decided that together we would figure it out.  Of course, then the breeder backed out.  You know, these bad breeders are a very, very weird and ok, just weird bunch.  They often get freaked out at the possibility that they would have to care for the veterinary needs or even feed some of the same little souls that they have been exploiting to make a buck.  They demand that we pick them up immediately or else.  Then they think twice and decide they might be able to sell the dogs so they back out.

Well, that’s what happened, they backed out and, darn, if they didn’t call yesterday and say come pick them up asap.  The rescuer that was the go-between called us to say she had shih tzus for us, please come get them.

Darn, we just don’t need any more DOGS.   But, what to do.  If we don’t take them, what will happen to them?  These are the pictures that they sent us….

As usual, nasty looking.  You’d think that someone who makes a living off these creatures could at least have the decency to keep them clean and groomed.  Oh, what am I saying, if they spent any money grooming them, it would cut into their profit margin.  Am I cynical?  YEP!

Guys, it usually costs a lot to vet these mill dogs – we absolutely must test them for Brucellosis, a nasty canine veneral disease that can be transmitted to humans.  This horrible disease is rarely cureable so we have to know if they have it.

We’ve had such HIGH expenses lately (duh – you all know that better than anyone), but geez what to do?  We desperately need donations yet again, to help these little dogs.  It’s not their fault that their “owners” decided to turn them in at absolutely the WRONG time!  It’s not their fault that Juicy Lu came along, and Zion, and Campbell, and on and on and on.

If you would like to donate for these little Mill fluffs, you can do it via PAYPAL HERE.  Or, send them a check HERE.

If you have adopted from us, you are APPROVED TO FOSTER one too.  Email SHERRY@pawpawpatch.net
