And again! Yet more lhasas and tzus in desperate need!! Puppymill refugees!
I just have no idea what is going on. I’m up to my eyeballs with Cherie-Borg-Barbie and Ginger (personal dogs), plus trying to get out of town for a wedding (my adorable oldest niece is getting married – what!!! She can’t be more than 6-7 years old! Oh wait, she’s 23 – where did all the time go???), and just begged and begged for the three Arkana dogs plus little Demetrius and then I get this horrible message last night…..
“Jackie, near Longview, TX just took possession of about 50 dogs from a puppy mill. The sheriff had been out and told the breeder she had to get rid of them by Friday. Breeder said whatever was not picked up by midnight would disappear. The sheriff had been out and told the breeder she had to get rid of them by Friday.
Breeds she named were Chihuahuas(some 2 day old puppies), over 20 Chinese cresteds, Bichons, Shi Tzus, poodles, 7 Pomeranians, 3 cockers (2 pups, one adult) 2 adult rottweilers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, a blue heeler, 1 corgie with a lot of fear but young, Lhasa Apsos, 6 week old pomeranian with no hair (bad mange).
Those are the ones she could remember. She said they were so matted that she could not identify some breeds.”
I called Jackie and yes, indeed, she has dogs sitting everywhere. She and her friends were going back and forth to the breeder’s location last night when I called. She truly believed that whatever was there after midnight would “disappear.” She said they are all in horrible condition – most very very thin, all matted and nasty.
Small Paws Rescue, a fabulous Bichon Rescue is coming for the ten bichons, crested rescue is picking up most of the cresteds. There are three mops that are either shih tzu or lhasas (Jackie doesn’t know the difference) so we need to come to her aid and get these dogs.
I just about threw up when I got this message. We are just bursting at the seams but how can we turn down these needy dogs.
I know you all really want to commit me now to the nearest insane asylum and so does my husband, but what can we do? I’ve said before, we really take this advocate position for these dogs to heart. We can not try, so here we are, asking again.
Right now, we’re going to commit if we can get the funds for normal vetting. If they have heartworms or something else, we’ll try to raise those funds when we get that information.
We’re right now calling these three the Longview Puppymill Trio – I don’t know if they are males or females, ages, or anything else about them. We need to be able to pick them up no later than Sunday and have someone standing by for the drive if we can raise the funds.
If you think you can help, please donate HERE via paypal or go HERE to send a check(Longview Puppymill Trio)!
We can now take credit cards – American Express, Mastercard, Visa and Discover. I’ve uploaded the credit card authorization form. If you want to use a credit card, please click HERE to down load the form. You can then fax it to 281-754-4851. And email me (Teresa@shihtzu-rescue.com) so I know to look for the fax.
If you want to use a credit card, and have already used it before, just email me (teresa@shihtzu-rescue.com) the amount you would like to send to help one or more of these babies.
And thank you for allowing us to rescue the most needy of the needy – again and again – over and over. You must be the most generous people on the face of the earth!!
